so i got my new motor coming in and excited, i have a wear ring coming, hydroturf, a impellor removal tool and new gaskets for the exhaust and carbs, can you think of anything else i will need? now i was wondering if i should get some shims but i cant find them anywere online, i never removed the motor mounts so i was thinking of just sitting motor right as it sits, does anyone have any input, does the 150 dollar alignment tool worth it and were can i find shims..... can you think of anything else i need for the install? oh ya i also have new pump oil coming .

Okay thanks for the help has anyone rented a tool from seadoosource.com I am trying to decide weather to by the tool or rent it or just throw the motor in and hope for best

oh and my skis is a 96 seadoo xp, i left the mounts in there and the shims i was hoping it would just go right back in its place lol

As far as your going I would definantly get the tool and do it the right way. I would hate to throw it in there and just hope for the best.

I second that.

Hoping for the best is never the attitude you should take with these machines. That can cost a lot of money.

Know what you are doing first. Even if it is the exact same engine you are putting back in, you have to be sure it goes back in the exact same place.

K guys thanks. I orderd new wear ring, new oring for jet pump cone. The gaskets kit for exhaust and the shims and engine alignment tool. So let's hope I can do the install now. Good all works out.
