Hi everyone. I am new to this forum but not to Seadoos. I have a 94 XP that has been neglected but decided to make it run again. After installing a new stator plate, magneto housing, starter and battery I have a smoking negative battery cable. I made sure that the neg cable is tight at the starter and that the wires from the stator plate are not in a bind in the housing. Anyone have any insight on this problem? Thanks in advance!

Internally rotted cables will get hot. Lots of amps thru very little wires. Bills86e

Thanks for the reply but the cables are in great shape. Thats why this seems so odd. Was looking to see if anyone has had a similar problem.

Might have red cables reversed on start relay. If plug at noon, start cable is 9 o'clock.

Okay sorry, ya lost me. More specific please? Thanks in advance
