I wake board behind mine every weekend, and have been pulled up and "skurfed" with a surfboard. It actually pulls me up and planes me on the wakeboard in less than 3 seconds and less than 8' of travel.
I have tried to waterski only once with 2 skis, and when I was 220 lbs. I tried it 3 times and got up each time, but the wife did not know the hand signs, and never got up to speed for me to enjoy it. She thought "thumbs up" meant I was having fun and not "speed up a little". Then the engine blew up later that day, and I had the surfboard fitted with straps by the next time out and then started to use wakeboard.
So, if the wear ring is in decent shape and you are not spinning in the hole, you should be able to pull a 190 lb skier with no problem.
I have to state that the waterskiing was done on the stock impeller with some gouges in the wear ring, so it wasn't running at 100%, and the engine was on it's very last leg (last toe? pun intended:reddevil:..get it? last "tow"?) and threw a rod later that same day.
I now run a SkatTrak Swirl impeller and new wear ring and it hops the boat out of the hole much faster and with more power, so it would EASILY pull someone out of the water.
Finally, to wrap up a long post...I doubt it would pull someone up with one ski, but I may try it one day if I ever get to borrow a decent ski built for someone my size. Some guys launch off docks or out of shallow water with "jump starts" allowing the boat to get up to some speed before pulling the skier, but I doubt it will pull you up from a water start in idle, since it wouldn't have the ooomph to get you going without dragging you for a long distance.
Maybe someone can chime in and prove me wrong before I prove myself wrong by trying it.
