I have Started doing a retro of a 1995 sportster into a fishing boat. I have seen some things on YouTube on people doing Is some minor things to convert it into fish and ski. I decided to go full bore and convert it into a fishing boat but yet have the ability to take it for pleasure runs.
I live in northeast Pa. and my basic use will be in the rivers For small mouth.
When I acquired the boat a few months ago The motor was seized up But all in all in good condition Is structurally.
My main goal was to develop a system on the boat where everything It was easy to get to and allow ample room for 2 people to Comfortably fish off the boat 1 in rear one in front. The seats were shot so I so I pull the seats and as you can see in the 1st photo put in 2 fold down boat seats I built a console for the center for lures and tackle and installed rod holders directly behind. The carpeting although not completely finished is a heavy duty outdoor and will be installed throughout the boat and on the swim platform.
I did use part of the original seats and cut the arm rests off and reupolstered and install them.
I have installed or going to install mirrors, Boss radio and speakers, dual battery system, digital voltage meters, (one for each battery) a 4 position battery switch, a livewell where the bow seat was, trolling motor on the transom w/ foot or remote control.
I am also fabricating a rudder system similar to cobra jet. As pictured, I ordered the tube and plate from McMasters.
I'm waiting for my impeller to be spray welded and balanced. Soon as I get it I'll rebuild the pump, install the new motor and get this pup on the water.
If anyone has any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to post them.
Thank You.

Cool modifications. I had a boat that had a long wall like is on the left inside of your boat. I cut a long rectangular opening for rods, PDFs, anchors and stuff. Use the cut out for a door or use open
