Ski doo rotax 120mph? Rotary engine in pwc or boat?

So I have been doing some thinking, ski doo runs a rotax engine fi that propels the bike to 120mph, so then it gets me thinking what have they done that allows the snowmobile to 120mph, why can't it be done on a pwc or better yet a speedster? Looking for everyone elses input on that model ski doo. It seems testing rotary engines on seadoo pwc and boats is nothing new and the speed and rpm increase is amazing. Next what if the hull where carbon fiber?

I believe it's the ski doo Mach z rotax 1000 rotary engine, I wonder how two of these would do in a 17' speedster. What's your thoughts on the rotax rotary engines in the seadoo boats/pwc, it would be neat to run a rotary engine in them but at what cost and what top speed?

I could be way off base here, or off point, but the Rotax engines used today are not rotary engines. Infact, I don't think rotary engines have been used since the 70's by SkiDoo or any other manufacturer.

I do know that Johnson and Evinrude used a rotary engine back in the early 70's models as well. Some of the few cars that used a rotary or Wankel engine were early Mazdas like the RX7 and still in the RX8, which surprised me!

Rotax may have made a name with their rotary engines, but all current engines in the sleds, Spyder roadsters, ATV's and watercraft are standard piston engines. Rotary engines were never considered the most fuel efficient engines in the world. Their purchase of Evinrude or that portion of OMC brought 2-stroke technology that has made a much bigger impact to their sleds that's for sure!

Check out the builds on Greenhulk to find out what these guys do to break the triple digit mark on a watercraft. There are a lot of things that fall apart at those speeds. There are plenty of dangers as well and most hulls are just not designed for it. Fountain and other offshore boat manufacturers have made these boats for pleasure as well and the price is reflected when pushing above 70-80mph.

Sorry I meant the rotax 1000 mach z and the rotary engine, two seperate ones, I was not thinking while typing, the two clashed together.

Still I wonder how either would do, I have read tons of info of all sorts of rotary engines being put in seadoo pwc and seadoo boas, but I cannot find anywhere at all where someone has taken a roatx from a ski-doo for instance and put it into a pwc or boat, I know that it is a pain for the boats like mine a 99 speedster is rated at the exact hp they have put into the boat but that makes no sense since they also put the 787/800 in them as well same hull, I in my field already know they under rate most however I wonder how much the hull could actually hold and if the mach z 1000 could be put into it as two mach z 1000's would have to make this boat scream, there are talks hear say's of work done to them turning nearly 9000 rpm's, I am trying to find if anyone has tried one of the snowmobile rotax engines in a pwc or boat.
