I have a 96" GTI 717 engine. Owned this boat for 15 years and am knowledgeable of its working components. Now for a reason I can't determine it is back flowing water thru the 2 siphoning bailers in the bottom of the hull. I have retraced the lines, re-secured all hoses to the correct fittings. I made sure all the lines are cleared of obstructions (none found) and anchored the hoses back to their designated factory points. The 2 yellow 90 degree fittings have been elevated and re-attached as they were from the factory. The only thing I found was at the rear pump nozzle discharge was the 2 hard nylon discharge tubes were not even with each other and I have trimmed them to a uniform length which I determined by looking at my 2000 RX. Do these tubes need to be a specific length, couldn't find any info on these in my manual. I am at the point of just plugging the siphoning tubes off and installing a automatic bilge as seen on YouTube. Would appreciate any advice if you feel I have overlooked something. For the age of the craft its been amazing considering the use and age. Thank you for taking time to look at my post. Have a good day, Seaputt2.

The water flows in only when running. I have even left it strapped to the trailer in the water with the engine running above idle and it will push water back through the system into the hull. Also the first thing I did was to fill the engine compartment with about 4 inches of water to look for other leak possibilities and not a single drop of water on the concrete after sitting an hour. Thank you for your interest. I'm curious if the 2 discharge tubes need to be lengthen that come out the back above the nozzle?

Without those two white straws being correct the pump will push water directly through the bailers like you are describing.

By chance do you know if there is a specific length the discharge straws are supposed to be? Appreciate the reply. Thanks.

If you cut them they are probably too short. I'm thinking Minnetonka4me could hook you up with a new/used set on the cheap. Either that or go to the dealer. That's really the only thing it could be
