hello seado freinds i have a 96 spx when a run it out of the water hooked up to the hose it has a loud bering noise coming from the prop shaft upper bering when i put it in the water no problem no leaks ther is side to side play any help appreciated

In a 96… there is no “Upper bearing.” The noise is coming from the pump, and the clearance in the thrust washer. They make a replacement tail cone with a pusher if you don’t want to listen to the rattle. The reason you don’t hear it in the water is because the impeller has something to push on.

It’s a normal sound… but if it’s very loud… you will want to check things over.
