Finally have enough hours on it to comfortably tell about my experience with SES in Horsham, PA. Originally placed the order in February for a Premium rebuild of my 951 carb engine (99 GSX-L). Tom was running a special at the time for $1,050 and that included shipping both ways. Due to a leg injury, I was not able to send my engine until late March.

Got the engine back from them in mid-March about a week earlier than I was originally told. Got it installed - had already rebuilt the carbs/replaced fuel lines/filters/etc. Did break-in as advised by Tom and actually did it longer than he advised (wound up being about 10 hours on break-in if I remember correctly.)

Once I was comfortable with running it WOT, I was amazed. Only thing I had to compare it to was my 01 GTX - same engine but about 200 hours on it and a heavier Doo. The GSX-L jumps quite nicely from idle. GPS showed a peak at 59mph on glassy smooth water - I thought that was really good since I weigh about 260. Engine starts easily and runs very well. Now has 30+ hours on it. Had it out of the water for some maintenance & cleaning last week. My Actron compression gauge showed 145psi on both cylinders. (cold engine/hot battery/throttle open/both plugs out/3 tests on each cylinder) I know this probably indicates that the gauge reads high - however, I was pleased to see that it showed the same reading on both cylinders.

All in all I have been very pleased with the motor and my dealings with SES. Will likely send the GTX motor to them this winter.

Glad it worked out for you. I do feel that SES build an excellent engine. Tom rebuilt a 787 for me over the winter and it hauls. Really happy with it.

Most here have had good service ad been happy with the end result.

Gala to hear it has gone well for you.

My XP engine has drank almost as much water as gas, and still runs 100% lol. (and still has warranty left).

a 2013 Yahama something or other couldn't keep up on acceleration w/my 11 year old XP, and was a dead match for top speed...

beginning of last summer I bought a 01 GTS for $200 that the jug was cracked and bulging out. sent it to him and a few weeks later got it back. dropped it in and it started within a few seconds. been running strong this summer and last. my neighbor has the same ski and this one out performs it hands down. Very pleased with SES
