I have a 97 gsx and the gauge doesn't work, how to i get the pump all the way out? Thanks in advance!

I was going to see if the magnet was sitting on the bottom of the tank but it won't lift all the way out.

On my '97 GTI, I simply had to remove the little storage box under the handle bars and had direct access to the baffle.

Ok, I am looking at my manual that shows how to do your ski...it says:
1.) Open storage compartment cover
2.) Remove storage basket from watercraft
2.) Remove steering assembly. Refer to STEERING SYSTEM 09-04.

Then it is just a case of labeling the hoses and pulling the baffle.

"just", lol!

You can't remove the fuel tank on a 96-97GSX without removing the motor, you can however slide the fuel tank far enough forward to remove the fuel baffle, but it's not an easy job.

BTW, if that's your ski in post 5 you need to get rid of the grey tempo fuel lines.

That is my ski in the pic. I was just reading up on the fuel lines and I now how my work cut out for me. Both skis that I have still have the grey lines. The other ski is a 97 gtx that needs an mpem and now fuel lines.

Got some Projects then, but it's all good, and you get to know your machines well. I highly recommend buying or downloading a Factory Service Manual. You can buy them off eBay for about $28 for a hard copy or $6 for a disc.
