I have a 1995 Seadoo Speedster and am in the process of replacing the seal carrier bearing. Have a few questions:

1. When I was removing the drive shaft the ventura (pump) came off of the spindled end. Is there any special precautions besides greasing it before I insert it back into the pump?

2. What type of sealant should I use between the nozzle and the ventura? It looks to be a red sealant that was there previously?

3. What type of sealant should I use around the ventura before mounting it back onto the hull? They used a flexible black gasket sealant before? What is the name and where can I purchase it?

Thank you.

John

No grease is required it a little won't hurt. Just make sure the rubber stopper is on each end of the drive shaft.

Black permatex sealant is good which you can get most anywhere. Not exactly sure what you are talking about on the last one, perhaps the pump cone, it calls for locktite 518 but any anarobic sealant will do.

I agree and I greased mine, but I have seen this discussed over at pwctoday and the experts said not necessary, as it will soon work it's way out and water is the lube. Regardless, grease it up, won't hurt. This is the impeller end we're talking about. At PTO, should be greased every 10 hours along with thru hull bearings if you model has that.
