What was the deciding factor you bought a seadoo jet boat, over another jet boat or non jet boat?

Outboard verses jet boats...

Jet boats serve a specific purpose and is usually the reason why someone buys one, initially anyway.

The draft of a jet boat is minimal. So, those in shallow areas would beneift.

The Jet boat is also a lot more maintenance free when it comes to maintaining a boat with an outdrive. The jet boat is more maneurvable. The jet boat has a look all it's own.

There are many makers of bass boats, but one bass boat looks just like others.

For me personally, there are nice places in the Alabama delta that ride into small channels before you get to open a water side protetcted lake areas. To get there, you have to kinda skim over logs that cross your parth. With a jet boat, you can kinda make a small head start, cut the motor and glide over that log to gain access to areas that outboard motors can't.

There are a million reasons to buy a jet boat. Mine in specific, they are so cool, self contained, engine compartment which allows for less noise. Engine power to weight ration....................I could go on and on...

I got mine because I was looking for a project. I also knew that all the other jet boat manufactures (of the era) were either out of business, bought out... or too small to deal with. Sure, I could have bought a Jazz... but a replacement pump would have cost me $1700, where I can buy a used SeaDoo pump for $70, and rebuild it myself.

Also... I've owned, and worked on a bunch of Seadoo's over the years... so it just made sense to me.

I have a 96 Sportster with a hand massaged pump, and engine... and it runs right along the speedsters I see on my local lakes (with 3 adults in it) and doesn't do too bad pulling a wake board either.
