hi guys need some help with my seadoo gti se 2005 model it wont start after its been stored for the year, fitted brand new battery and all i get is clocks go through start up cycle then off few seconds later it does it again, have checked and cleaned every fuse ,terminal wiring connector cleaned engine earth point but still nothing i can hear fuel pump working but on pressing starter clocks cycle but nothing ive jumped soleniod and engine spins freely and quickly so no battery problem it seems like a earth problem but dont know where to look next it was running spot on before storage any help gratefully received

It could be a defective solenoid as well.

If all seems normal with the only exception that is does not turn over, then you need to test the trigger wire at the solenoid for voltage when you have the lanyard on and pressing the START button.

following winter storage my seadoo 4tec gti se wont start up or do much else it ran before i stored it ive fitted fully charged new battery. but when layard connected no beeps clocks went through start up procedure then went off when hitting start nothing couple seconds later tacho rises again then goes off have checked and cleaned every connector fuse and earth lead ,ive jumped starter soleniod and engine turns over freely, ive also tested starter button and dess post and all tested ok

Bad battery connection, maybe. Sounds like just enough amps to cycle the electronic systems, but when the starter is pressed the heavy draw for amps is too much.

Reclean and retighten all connections to the battery and solenoid.

check your solenoid as previously mentioned as they fail over winter all the time. it will corrode internally and not work after storage.

beepers fail all the time as well. if you're gauges come on when you put the key on without beeps, you need a new beeper.

hi thanks for the reply i was thinking bad connection but ive taken battery off recharged it just incase and now clocks dont even come on but ive checked power to soleniod and to fuses and theres 12 v there it jumps ok from soleniod so that confirms battery charge is ok ,dess post checked out ok aswell o omhs

Still nothing? Then check the starter mounting. The ground returns through housing. And check the (+)connection. When I replaced my started I added a ground wire from the battery to the bolt on the starter. Gave it a better direct and better path back for something that uses a lot of amps. Bad ground is just as bad as a positive connection.

If it spins well when jumping the solenoid, then the battery, cables, connections and the starter are good.

The description of the dash is a classic battery or connection issue. Since you KNOW the main stuff is connected well, you will now need to check the peripheral connections.

You need to unplug and re-plug things like the MPEM and what not. Trace the main feed from the MPEM and see where it gets its power.

hi joe ive traced power from battery to soleniod then feed from soleniod via fuse to mpew also a feed to a item im thinking is voltage regulator i know its something electrical as since ive been checking everything clocks dont show any life .did everything with battery disconected so not to cause problems
