Hello,

I have a 2002 GTX RFI. It seems to run fine I stopped in for a bite to eat and left it on the beach. It was a windy day and when I got back to the machine it was full of water.
When I drain it it can sit in the water and doesnt take any on......I am wondering if there is something to do with the waves crashing against it that could fill it up when just sitting. This is rare but did happen the exact same way one other time.

I am puzzled.

Hi,

It's possible that the ski just took on water from the waves, you know from the topside is hardly waterproof. You might also want to check your hoses and exhaust to be sure that they are not leaking water into the hull. The other possibility is the carbon seal and the rubber bellows.

I personally put a bilge pump in my GTI, (the XP already had one), I never thought much of the SeaDoo bailers. I leave mine in the water a lot, in fact both ski's are in the water now. I bought a Rule PWC500 automatic bilge pump, pretty cheap insurance, it works great, I also use a solar battery tender so the battery doesn't run down. The bilge pump really pumps a lot of water fast.
