I just bought this sea doo. It is a 97 single carb Rotax 717cc engine, It starts but if I shake it stalls. Same thing if I get it in the water and I started is fine, but as soon as it starts rocking it wants to stall... Does anyone has any idea of what to do about it???

Maybe a loose electrical connection? Check the positive posts of the battery, solenoid, and starter; and check the grounds of the battery and the starter. Loose or corroded connections there can create the stalls you are having.

Other considerations may be a fuel delivery problem.

Thank you much for your response! Well I worked on it today and more and more Im starting to think it is a fuel delivery problem. But the carb was rebuilt by the previous owner in May and it has hardly even been used. The only other things that could be are the plugs (if they arent resistend ones yet) and the Rectifier.

Lets see...

First question: Is it possible that the carb was not rebuilt correctly?
Second question: Do you still have the gray fuel lines?

If it still has the gray fuel lines you need to check them. Sometimes the inside of the tube breaks down and leaves a green sticky residue that can clog the lines, carbs, or fuel filter. Check the filter first, that's the easiest place to start, then check the lines. I recently replaced mine in a 99 XP; they only had the green residue on the ends, nothing in the lines, but I've seen other posts on here where it is a big problem.

Mine stalled when I jumped or rode in rough water. I thought it was sucking up air from the baffle in the tank, but when installed a new ON/OFF/RESERVE switch, it quit stalling.

Not sure what that means, but something in the switch appears to have fixed it.

i have a 97 gti and after riding for about ten min. it will start boging, you stated that the gray fuel lines may give problems. mine still has gray lines, the seadoo sat up for about two years before i got it.what type of fuel line should i replace them with. thanks

1/4" black fuel lines from your local auto parts store, about 25' of it.

Or you could spend a little more for the "marine" lines from a marine dealer.

You may need some 5/16" (8mm) fuel line also; I'm not sure about your 97 gti, but my 99 xp used about 5 feet of 5/16" line. Most of the lines are 1/4" though. Don't try to force 1/4" line over 5/16" fittings.

regarding seadoo stalls when you shake it

Your coil box has water in it, when sloshing, it is shorting out the coil just like a kill switch.
