So I just bought a 94 xp 657x and it has a low end blogging problem. The guy before me told me that he just swapped the plugs off an old ski but they looked fairly good. I replaced them today, but I haven’t taken it back out yet.I also did a genuine Mikuni rebuild for the carbs. I synced both of them perfectly. After I put in new spark plugs today it started right up fine. I just want to know if this is the problem or if it’s something bigger. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure if that's low for a 657 but it sounds somewhat low, does it bog when you try to rev it on the trailer?

Typically when you have plenty of power on the trailer but bogging in the water or loss of power on the water it means the top end needs to be rebuilt, especially if the carbs have been rebuilt and tuned properly

Do you still have the grey tempo fuel lines? Those are always bad and can starve the ski of fuel, it's always a good start to replace those as they are much cheaper and easier than a top end rebuild
