I did a search but just thought I would give a shout out to Skat-Trak.

I had used IMPROS before and the work was good but when returned there was pitting on the hub that was not there before from the welding process I guess. One call and they corrected it for free but the total time was without a prop was about three weeks. The total cost was $80.

This time I needed to have the stock impellers from my 1996 XP and 2001 XP repaired and since I had a little hiccup from IMPROS last time Minnetonka suggested Skat-Trak.

I sent the impellers to them and a few days later they said they had already checked them and the 1996 needed the blades repaired from rock damage, the pitch corrected and refinished. The total was $85. The 2001 needed the same repairs but the diameter was worn below tolerance so they said they would have to weld the edges the so all of the other truing and finishing but the total was $145. Ouch I thought and I was not planning on spending that much but they already had it so I reluctantly agreed.

Three days later I received an email fedex shipping label and today I just received the props.

Time to open the boxes....

The picture is bad but all I can say is WOW! They look so much better than the one from IMPRO and I can't believe they are the same ones that I sent. After seeing them I would say the price was justified and will be sending all of mine to them. I even tried for the forum discount ploy and they politely said "we are old school" and can't offer any discounts but we guarantee you will be happy with your impeller. To that I say they were spot on and I got exactly what I paid for.

Thanks Nick, you were correct again. I hope you get tired of always being right.

You sure they did mess up and send you brand new impellers? Jk haha those look incredible

Yup Glenn at Skat-trak are the best by far. Impros think their chit dont stink but its the worst smelling pile out there. A bit more but worth every penny.

Oh and FYI Impros does not balance them either.

If anyone is in too big of a hurry to wait for a repaired prop or have one beat beyond repair I have a bunch of them I just got back from Glenn. Got a 17/22 and 16/21 skat swirl and a Solas XO too...

I had my prop out a couple weeks ago. The edges were a little chewed, but I filed them. I am not looking for great speed, but I do pull tubes and a wake board so that kind of power I need. How much damage hurts?

I had another prop, but it looks like a rock went through it and one exhaust side ear tip is slightly bent. Very minor, but I ended up using this other prop. Would it be a big issue to run the slightly bent tip prop? What symptom would I have if it was not good?

Sorry for the hijack, but it looks like it has run its course...
