Hi everyone new here and had a quick question .. Just got a 2004 gtx wakeboard edition not supercharged . Took it out today and it ran well I think but speeds were slow I could only get up to about 42-44 mph at best .. It seemed to be running good but slow .. Rpms were around 7500 or more any suggestions .. ? How fast should it be running ? I'm 250 lbs and the pwc has 90hrs on it thanks for any help ..

Does that model have 155hp? If so, I would expect you could get to 52-55 mph. Are you using the learner key (not sure if they had one for that model but it might be green). Did you have clear conditions?

Yes 155 model and it was perfect conditions .. I've read these things should be around 58-60 mph I was at like 43 this morning .. And it is the Hess key yellow that I think is the right one

If everything is perfect you can get near 60 mph. But realistically most get 55 ish

My spare ski is a 2010 GTX with the 155 engine. I almost never ride it but when I do I hit 57 MPH with a full tank of fuel and I weigh 170 pounds.

See that's crazy what could it be ? Getting good rpms and seems to be running good .. Fast out of the hole .. What should I look for thanks

I have only hit 55 mph with premium fuel, perfect conditions, tank was low. Mine will not go past 55 and it is a 2011 GTX 155. 53mph is normal for me - been that way since new. I am reading my digital speedo which is GPS guided I believe. My Wake Pro 215 will go 65 mph. But that is very fast...don't really need it.

Your RPMs are high and close to the limiter of not on it. I'm guessing you have a impeller/wear ring issue. Does it cavitate under hard acceleration from a stop?

ive found even the brp gps speedos to be slower by 1-2 mph.

to the OP... the rpms are about where they should be.. have you inspected the impeller and wear ring? any vibration ? have you gps your speed or looked at the speedo?

whens the last time the plugs were replaced?

Haven't done anything other than hop on it and ride . Thank you guys for all your help now I think I'll get to work and check the wear ring and impeller .. Thank you guys so much for al the suggestions
