Seadoo GTX acceleration problems

I have a 1995 Seadoo GTX. I replaced all fuel lines and carbs cleaned and has been running great. The problem I am having now is with acceleration. I notice it a lot when someone is on the ski with me. It just accelerates really slow. The engine responds to the throttle but takes a few seconds to get going. What should I be looking at replacing?

Sounds like cavitation. Ski revs up normal just doesn't take off? Check your wear ring. It's a ring that surrounds your impeller. Look for scratches and chunks missing.

Wear ring or CS. If the gap is wider than the width of a dime the ring needs replaced. Use a Delrin or OEM ring.

Seems like everyone recommends OEM wear rings. I see some you have to use a seal and some you don't. Some people use RTV to seal it in? Can anyone clarify what I need?

On the 95 gtx, it's a neoprene gasket. Goes between the pump and the hull. I might be mistaken, but I thought the 95 had a bearing carrier.

Please, don't use rtv....! Think about the next guy to pull that pump.
Get a picture of the wear ring thru the grate if you can, that will tell us a lot.

Even with the neoprene seal some of the older ones need RTV around the through hull fittings.

The white you see is the shell of the wear ring. Looks like you will need to replace it. The coating is gone, and that's what keeps the tolerance good and tight.

LOL, Delrin is a brand of material owned by DuPont not brand of wear ring.

Silly Coastie.

That will fit. The rtv should be used around the engine cooling water supply pipe off the pump where it goes thru the hull. Any pipe or nipple that goes thru the hull will need a bead. The neoprene seal is used to seal the gap between the pump/wear ring and the hull.
