Seadoo for the marina and ocean?

Hello folks!
Have one interesting question for experienced boaters.
I want to buy a boat (used one) and I have $15,000 budget for that. Now, I want to keep it in my 20 feet garage.
I leave very close to Oxnard, CA marina. Want to use it there with my family of 2 and maybe some guests once in a while and maybe at nearby lakes from time to time.
But the question is can I use any (< 18 feet ) Seadoo for a little (along the shore) ocean excursions. Sorry if it sounds like naive question. That is why I'm interested in your advice :reddevil:

First off, I'm not experienced so take my reply with a grain of salt.

18' in the ocean seems a bit small to me and from what I know of the Sea Doo boats they are best suited for lakes and rivers where the water is not so rough - at least the smaller ones.

That's just my two cents and honestly it isn't coming from a position of experience.

Ocean excursions on a calm day would be fine. Never drift too far from inland as the weather can change quickly. Not familiar with what your water conditions are in CA. Once the winds kick up so do the chops making the ride in an 18' jetboat potentially a bit rough depending on the winds.
