Hey guys Im new to the whole seadoo thing but after only a few times out of the water I already have a problem.

I have a 2005 seadoo gti and I have a leak coming from the driveshaft seal area. In the picture below you can see the area im taking about its where the rubber boat is.

Now I have removed the two metal clamps already (before i took the pic)

but how can i tell if that bearing is broken without removing it?

also about a 1/4 inch in from the seal the fiberglass looks broken, its either been broken and fixed or comes like that.

which end of the accordion shaped tube is water coming in from the side by the hull or the side by the collar?

Exhaust Water Leak (from the welded plugs)

Make sure its not coming from the Exhaust Pipe. The plugs tend to corrode and create a pinhole which then evetually becomes a bigger hole allowing the water in the boat. hook up the water hose and you will see if that is the case.

theres no bearing there. Inspect the carbon ring for cracks/chips, and thats ur problem. With clamps off, you should be able to turn thee, entire unit.

Also, if you haven't VERIFIED that water is coming in at the carbon seal, by actually riding it with the top off and watching water come in there, it could be coming in from the bailers.

My XP had the same problem for months, and finally I took off the seat, and drove it while looking at the area in your picture. Yes, the carbon seal was flinging a little water in, but the bailers were GUSHING water in as I slowed down and came to a stop. They sucked slowly while moving, but water flooded back in when I decelerated.

So verify where the water is coming in from. Lots of potential places for leaks in that area.

UMMMMMMM….

There are no clamps on the boot. Bet you are getting water from there… and it’s probably giving you cavitation problems.

yes I know the clamps are not their i removed them prior to taking the pic,

ok I have diagnosed the problem to be water leaking from the front (left side of the picture) of the boot. Still havent been able to tell what exactly is broken in their or how to fix it though

the carbon ring doesnt appear chipped or broken (its hard to look at it properly inside the seadoo) but I do notice that I can push the rubber boot back and the ring is a bit big for the driveshaft so I an wiglle it side to side when the clamps on. Is this normal?
