I've got an 08 RXT-X 255 that has some pitting on the cylinder walls. I'm just trying to decide which way to go so I'm here looking for some input. Should I bore and resleeve or bore and run oversized pistons. Any input on the pros and cons of either option will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

To vague to simply answer..

Some pictures would be helpful.

Many times you can simply hone the cylinders and be good to go.

A decent machine shop should be able to advise you on this, kind of depends on how deep the pits are. Pits can be quite deep, so shooting from the hip my guess is you'll need a resleeve.

actually, minor pits are pretty normal and don't really hurt anything. what's your compression and how's the leak down test?

I've seen some pretty pitted cyl walls on 4tecs and they run great. You have 2 rings and an oil scraper. Deep vertical scratches are worse than pits.
