its like new, unbelievable condition.
considering there were only 3 that ever came to the state and the last one is sittiing in my driveway im pretty excited about running it for my first time tomorrow

Nice man! I know where there is a 1 owner very nice condition RXX setting with a blown motor. We rode together last year and man is it stupid fast. You can tell just by the sound when its coming across the lake!

Holy Crap that thing is fast, it was choppy but unbelievable.
The Dump lever VTS is sweet, and it out accelerates 255 supercharged skis
WOW!

yep great ski, Was scary jumping around on the choppy water..., Ridiculously fast!!!
Can't wait for next weekend:p

Awesome...but let me guess your arms are killing you?

I got to ride my first one last summer. Retarded fast but hard on the arms around bouys.

Even after a month of preparation, going to the gym etc I still got the worst arm pump ive ever had, strangely after the first race my arms almost fell off but the second and third they got better...?

ive ordered a new custom grippy seat cover and im currently searching for another RX/RXX seat to modify, the plan is to add the 'wings' above the knees like on the new RXP-X's, but finding one locally is proving a little hard

That would be sweet I bet you could talk Gary at jettrim into doing a OEM looking grippy modified seat. I have a good core to send him but Im sure shipping is crazy.

Bill O said he was about to put a power steering system from an ATV in their RXX before Seadoo pulled the plug on them.

I asked the seller that i ordered my seat cover to chuck in some off cuts of the grippy vinyl so i can get a trimmer to do it locally.
I need to find a seat in australia, postage would be horrendous overseas. There must be one around somewhere

Heres a RXX (hull) one of my customers bought from me after his son smashed their 01 RX. I was very happy to see this hull get reused vs. trashed. Its got all the RX innards, but kept the manual trim, steering, and sponsons on it. Gary at JT hooked him up with a reproduction RXX cover...but he messed up the color scheme.

looks great!!
I scored a seat for free from my mechanic and while at standing around talking at Seadoo a guy showed up to pick up his ski and happened to be a motor/marine trimmer so i got his number to do the modification to the foam and install the new cover

My seat should be ready in the next couple of days so ill post some photos

Yesterday i took the RXX down to the river for a last run before next weeks race, after warming it up i got 500m offshore hit full throttle, then rev limiter and a really screaming (gear spinning) sound, no drive at all. Waited 10 minutes until someone noticed me and towed me in.

After spending 5 hours trying to get the pump off as the aluminium in the pump had corroded onto the bolts. I used the pump puller, tied rope around and to the forklift and used the trailer winch, nothing. In the end i had to undo the bolts inside and pull the studs out of the pump bracket. The splines are stripped on the drive shaft and i assume in the prop too.

The only positive i can find is that if i didnt do it this week it would have happened on the first straight of the race, stay tuned

The PTO would be handy but I need it in the next few days, I ordered one (new from the east coast of Australia)
To my absolute shock there was a Solas prop for it (actually a Kawasaki part) in stock, just so happens the Solas dealer in Perth is my next door to my factory unit at work.
The problem part is the drive shaft which is a Skat Trak part that I have no chance of getting in a few days so it is getting built up with weld and re-machined locally, should be done by wednesday

Heres the driveshaft, the inside of the prop spline looked much the same. the other end was just about to strip aswell

I got the seat back from the trimmer today, they did an incredible job

Here compared to the original seat you can see the extra foam added at the front and shaved down the sides

It fits great and is really grippy.

Hopefully my driveshaft, pump and prop are ready tomorrow so I can get it all back together for a test before Sunday

Pretty freakin awesome. So you had the stock one added to to get the length? I assume they werent able to order you the OEM RXX one.

The OEM one is too slippery so I ordered the seat cover custom in grippy vinyl through eBay (i think from BlackTip) then decided to get a seat modified to have more shape to hold on with my knees.
It would have fitted for length but with the extra foam at the front and the convex curves the trimmer had to make new vinyl panels to out of a similar material to make it work.
They really went the extra mile to make it perfect, i couldnt be happier. Im really looking forward to riding with it

I got back all off the parts yesterday afternoon, the shaft had been welded and the splines re-machined.
ill order a new one form Skat Trak but that will take longer than the 4 days I had up my sleeve.

My shiny new prop and the stainless liner that had some slight blisters also machined perfectly round, the gap is perfect.
Bearings checked and fresh oil.
It took a 6 tonne press to get the bottom studs out of the pump housing, now with all of the corrosion drilled out and a liberal dose of grease around the studs.

Last night after work I put all of the pump back together and this morning ill reinstall the ride plate and intake grate.
Turns out the prop is actually a Kawasaki part and im told the pump is too but im a little sceptical.
