hELLO to all
I have the opportunity to buy a 2010 rxtx with a blown motor (33 hrs) and want to know if I can use a older engine block and crank or does it have to be a 260 block and crank.
Any help would be great
Thanks in advance

To add to Joe's post, yes the castings are all the same across the 4tecs. There are a few things you should know though, there have been several changes between the 05' and 06' years. The locating pin on the crank is different on the 06' and up models. This means that the crankshaft position sensor is in a different location and therefore you will see there is a difference in magneto housing covers. Also, the cylinder head castings are the same but there has also been changes to the oiler system. The 06+ have a different rocker arm shaft so assembling a 05' block with an 06' head can starve the head for oil.

i'm not trying to freak you out, but if you let us all know what parts you want to use for your block (ie, 05' crankcase + 09' head + 06' mag cover) we'll make sure you get a good block together. I've just been down this road before and I'm just trying to avoid headaches for yah.
