I just bought a 2010 RXT iS 260 with 47 hrs on it and a friend asked me if it had the supercharger upgrade on it, something about a bushing, says it should be replaced with a steel one..... He said that it should have been done at the 40 Hrs mark. Who can fill me in on this topic?

i think your ski came with the metal washers inside the supercharger(someone else can chime in on that).. the older ones came with ceramic washers which were known to break apart and completely destroy an engine.. there isnt a time table to get those ceramic washers out of the supercharger its an ASAP thing because theyre known to blow unpredictably

07 and earlier skis had that issue. Your 2010 has the metal washers and its good for 200hrs before a rebuild if I remember correctly. Your biggest concern with the 2010 iS model is the sinking issues seadoo has had with the suspension models.

Here's a link to a thread discussing sinking issues

You mind elaborating or have a link to a thread?

you should still service the super charger every 100 hrs. regardless of factory recommendation the bearings were never designed to spin at 60,000 rpms

I agree with the 100hrs on the rebuild. Just stating what BRP recommends. It's cheaper to rebuild a charger every 100 hrs then having to replace an engine after it came apart and went through it.

I believe BRP is miss leading its customers with that recommendation the only reason they did was to appease the ones who were bitching and not address the real problem which is the bearing do not have a long service life

The 2010 came with a kit that requires replacement every 100 hrs, but the new ones they are putting in can go 200 hrs before replacement as per BRP. So once you the charger rebuilt with a new kit, it will be good for another 200.

you are wrong BRP did not update the bearing only extended the service hours the bearings in the supercharger were never ment to spin at 40,000 to 60,000 rpm that is why you should still service at 100hrs of service but if you want to roll the dice go ahead

While I appreciate your opinion, and I have no evidence to support any argument about the bearings, I am not "wrong". The new service bulletin does in fact extend the service requirements to 200 hrs for any of the -102 kits from 2011 on installed in any prior year ski. i confirmed this through both BRP and my dealer via service bulletin. Not saying that I am comfortable with that, and I'd like to see it to believe it, but that is indeed what the manufacturer now suggests. I'm not saying you are wrong, but neither am I.

Ill ask when I pick up the RXT-X tomorrow and see what they say. Mine should be good to 200 as it is a 2011, but I'll probably do it sooner.
