i was running down lake yesterday,engine started making loud whinning noise and shut down.then it would not turn over to start.where do I start?could it be pump?hot battery will make it turn,but just hits a little on each revolution.

Pull the pump and check out the bearings.

Does the impeller spin freely?

check for a touch down.

Remove the intake hose to the supercharger and see if there is any play in the wheel and if it has touched the housing.

SC has no play and no housing damage visible.

I will pull pump one day this week,hard to tell right now

I would remove the spark plugs and see if there is any catastrophic damage (dropped valve) then pull the pump and check the pump bearing.

after more thorough searching,SC does have play in it.i have not went deeper,need to get in shop to tear into it further.what would be damaged in this case? I said it was in engine to begin with,but hoped for pump issues.

looks like an engine issue,SC has 1/8" play in rotation,bearings would have been no big deal,but this may be expensive.
