Hello,

I am new to this forum and to pwc in general. I have a 2012 RXT 260 with 60 hours on it. I am the original owner and have really babied the boat of course (avoiding shallow water and always flushing it out etc).

I took it out yesterday and it ran perfectly all out. After riding for 20 minutes I stopped, was idling for a bit and shut off the engine. When I started it back up, it would idle and move forward at idle speed, but when I gave it throttle, it acted as though I had a bunch of seaweed completely stuck in the intake and it would not move any faster than at idle. (even though there was no seaweed or debris in the area ). I inspected the intake in the water in there was nothing stuck.

I inspected the intake/ wear ring on land an their is no apparent damage, I started it up and their seems to be some cavitation based on the sounds (but nothing more than the way it usually sounded).

I have a few questions related to this problem.

1) I thought wear ring damage would be cumulative over time (i.e. start noticing cavitation at high speed and then lower speed over time) or, that damage would immediate after sucking debris into the intake. In my case neither of these things appeared to happen. Inspection of the wear ring shows just minor scratches.

2) Can it be something else like bearings / lubrication etc.?

3) Assuming it is just the wear ring, generally, what will the dealer typically charge?

Thanks for the help.

You need to look up in the tunnel....around the drive shaft in front of the prop...can you see the trailing edges of the prop?...anything wedged in there...it don't take much.

Why not pull the pump and check things out?

You can replace the ring for...dang...been so long since I did one...$180?...for stainless...cheaper for oem......maybe $65.

Your bucket working properly?
