All,

Put my jet ski in the water recently and when I pull the key from DESS post it continues to run. Did some searches and found a few articles stating to replace the DESS post. I have seen where replacing DESS post when you get no dash lights or power to the starter but wouldn't think this would be the problem.

The start stop button works fine and that's how I shut it down. But if someone should wipe out the jet ski will drive off as at idle it goes 3 MPH.

Do you think replacing the DESS post will resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Gregg

Sorry I can't help you from a technical aspect but if it was me I wouldn't be paying for that repair out of my pocket until I wrote a letter to seadoo asking them to fix it. Possible a letter from an attorney and or certified mail. Given that it's a safety issue I would think they'll be falling all over themselves to get that fixed for you at no cost.

It can't really be anything other than the DSS post. With the key disconnected there is supposed to be an interruption of electricity at the post that you are not getting.
