rxp stays running when key is taken off

Big Big problem. First of all, hello from Spain to everyone and nice forum. The problem I have is that it turns on ok but if you take the key off the engine will keep tunning. Even if you press the stop button it will keep running. As you guys will understand this is extremely dangerous, specially if you fall off, the rxp will go running, and unless you are phelps, you won´t catch it...Thanks to everyone that has any idea of what may happen.

What is it that you do in order to stop the engine?

First of all, thanks for the fast answer. To turn it off the only way I have is to disconnect the battery. BIG problem...

What year is the RXP?

It's a 2004 rxp. The 3rd or 4th that arrived to spain.

You could have a problem with the MPEM (beside the battery) OR the ECM ( on top of the engine). Either could cause the symptoms you describe. If I had to guess I would say it was the ECM.
You need to take it to a dealer and have them diagnose it so you don't waste money guessing.

OMG That sounds pretty expensive. Do you have an idea of how much would each component would be ?? and anywhere around miami were I could find it once I know what the problem is, I fly to miami every now and then. Thanks for all the help. Kinda dissapointed now
