RXP 300 seadoo

Muchas gracias

Hello Minton,
Thank you very much for your reply.

I have a 2018 Seadoo RXP. Suddenly, it stopped in the water and would not start.

I checked the compression on the spark plugs when I got home, and it was very, very low. They are adjusting the valves.

Is that a reason for the jet ski to suddenly stop?

Or could it have another more serious problem?

Thank you very much.

The valves can cause low compression if they are adjusted too tight, but I doubt that would be the issue if it was running fine and then all of a sudden stopped. I’m not sure about the 300 motors but the rest of them, 260 and below. Have self adjusting hydraulic valves. So there is no valve adjustment. As I said the 300 may be different but I doubt it.

When you checked compression was the battery fully charged and throttle held wide open? If no to either, results will be lower than what it actually is

When I tested the compression, the battery was charged and the throttle was fully open.
They've tested the compression and it's between 2 and 4 bars. That's very low.
The valves on the 300 aren't self-adjusting.

But the compression is very low. My question is why it suddenly stopped. It's as if you had suddenly disconnected the battery.

I removed the cover to repair the cylinder head. We're going to repair the valves that don't close properly, and the timing chain is fine, the cylinders too...

It's a big coincidence, but... could it be the fuel pump?

It's all a bit strange. I have the computer connected to Seadoo, and it doesn't show any signs of failure.

If it was running fine and just randomly completely stopped, just adjusting valves won’t make a difference. If it is valve related something is seriously wrong for it to die on all 3 cylinders. I would make sure it didn’t jump time.

Stick a screw driver in whatever cylinder is supposed to be at top dead center when the timing marks on the cam are aligned with the head. The manual or maybe someone here can tell you which cylinder. When the screw driver is all the way up. The lines on the cam gear should line up with the head.
