Running without the RPM limiter

I have two of the five problems that are caused by a bad RPM Limiter...

• incorrectly controlled engine maximum speed of 7000 RPM at forward/reverse and 3500 RPM at neutral
• sudden engine stop while riding at maximum RPM

A few questions

Is it safe(ish) to run without the RPM limiters plugged in to the coils?
Should the wires be grounded to some thing to prevent further damage to the MPEM?
Other then having to choke out the engines to stop and keeping an eye on the RPMs is there any thing else to worry about?

I know a new MPEM is in my future.:banghead:

I wouldn't run your engine without a rev limiter of some kind. If your pump becomes unloaded, the RPM's could jump to well over 10k in just a second. That has a 2 fold problem. First... you could throw a rod, or break some other internal engine parts.... AND... when the pump loads up again, the shock load could bend your driveshaft, or rip the splines out of the PTO.

Exactly, what kind of SeaDoo is this?

Good to know! I guess faulty limiters is better then no limiters.

I looked in to the MSD replacement but to buy two I might as well just get a new MPEM.
