Running with garden hose

How long can I run a 2004 Seadoo GTI RFI with a garden hose attached to the flush line?

I want to make sure everything is flushed out after running in somewhat brackish water.

I recall someone saying not to run it more that 5 minutes as the drive line seal isn't cooled when its out of water. Is that correct?

Also, is that 5 continuous minutes or 5 total without putting back in the water. In other words, if I flush it for 5 minutes. Shut it down for the evening and let everything cool down, can I flush for 5 more minutes in the morning?

Thanks!

Engine Flush

Clymer manual states no more than 5mins. at 3000-3500 rpm. I don't see any reason why you couldn't flush the engine again after it has cooled.

Unless you use your ski in salt water, or the water is muddy you shouldn't need to flush your ski, except to winterize it.

The big thing is the carbon seal on the drive shaft. As you are running it... keep spraying it with soapy water to cool, and lube it. But, I still wouldn't run it for more than a few minuets at a time.
