Hey guys:
So I've got a bent con rod on my old '94 657. I'm currently waiting on the PTO spline tool to get the PTO FW off the back end so I can disassemble the crankcase.
But after reading a little bit here and there, some seem to indicate that you can't remove the lower con rod pins without complete disassembling the crankshaft.
I was really hoping to just replace the rod and reassemble with only the bare necessity of replacement parts like rings and seals and gaskets and stuff. Maybe wrist bearings. Is this even possible?
I don't have much invested in the boat and I doubt whether it's worth the investment of a new crank or even a whole engine. If I can reuse this crankshaft, I'm considering just parting this one out or trying to get whatever I can get out of it as is. What do you think?
Thanks!
