Rotary valve question

The 147 mark isnt your rv. It is actually doing the timing. He is marking the 147 degree postion to determine where to line up the edge of the rv(plate) You must mark certain degrees to correctly time your machine. I think we are in the impression that you are refering to the plate as being a 147

I will check to see the degrees for your btdc and opening

You will need to get you mag piston to tdc then, place the degree wheel on, make sure that 360 is on the bottom of the mag side port, just follow the directions from there.

Ok let's back up.
I read the seadoo manual for a 96 HX. Bought a degree wheel and followed the direction on timing and installing it. I went on today to read how to bleed it. I started using the 95 manual and noticed I was using to different manuals. I read both 95 and 96 and found all the conflicts in both manuals. So I opened the engine back up again and check the RV to see what one I had. I know I timed it for 147* because it had marks there when I put the degree wheel there. And laughed because I spent 15.00 for the wheel and it was already marked at 147* but I found in both manuals that it should be 159* but as I remembered I read 147* someplace in there so I kept reading. I measured the metal plate with the tool it is 147 I lined it up on the template it is a 147. This is where we are now. I hope this takes out some of the confusion.
It's a seadoo manual. Both are

Ok you are taking the plate size and the markings out of context, some timings call for a 146.5 there is no 146.5 rv plates the plate size is just what you are using to put on the grear, it has nothing to do with the actual markings you need to make. The markings you are making just happen to be 2 of the plate sizes which is confusing. Just take it to someone to time it, it will be cheap or hopefully you know someone that can do it

Do me a favor, place your rv on the degree wheel again, measure the degrees of where there is no metal, so just the plastic that is visible. That i believe how you need to measure the plate you have. As the rv # is the opening that is allowed

Lol nothing is cheap around here. There's like two shops around me and they get 85 bucks an hour. One of them don't answer questions and is kind of a jerk.

Anyways. I followed the directions to a t so I think I might be good. Maybe confused but good.
