Riva rear exhaust kit?

So guys, im new to this site and was wandering if there's anyone out there with riva's rear exhaust kit on their RXP 215? If so, what kind of gains did you get, or was it all just for the sweet sound? :cheers:

I've got one on my 255, and have a few buddies with them on their 215 boats. It does free up a little bit of cowbell, as you are getting rid of the restrictive factory resonator. It will rev a bit better, but it's not like your going to be smoking everything on the lake after installation. Definitely a sweet mod with a great sound though. Keep in mind you will have to remove your O.P.A.S system to make room for the pipe and through hull tip.

I've seen a couple of guys try to rig it and get passed having to have opas block offs, but it's not pretty and can cause the paddles to get stuck by binding the opas cables...:cheers:

ok, thank you very much. i was just looking at getting it for the sound as one of my buddies has a full stage 2 rxp 215 and that thing sounds sweet with the exhaust. I dont expect to get much performance out of just the exhaust. i pulled the factory resonator out of my 2007 gtx/sc about two years ago and just replaced it with a rolled and welded piece of stainless steel. it really increased the sound of the ski, but i noticed a decrease in the miles i can ride on a full tank of gas. is this something that i might see on my rxp if i put the riva full exhaust kit on it?

Did you pick up any RPM's after removing the resonator? If so that is probably it. I cannot think of any other logical reason for increased fuel consumption simply by removing the resonator.

oh yes, i didnt even think about that. i do believe i picked up a few RPM's. im sure that's what it was. i also noticed that the acceleration was a little better.

im guessing i will pick up a few RPM's on the rxp when i get the exhaust kit for it too. I take it i will see a drop in hours per gallon as well, right?
