Reverse cable install

Hey guys when installing a new rev cable do I just make sure it locks reverse into place? Then neutral and forward should naturally be in right position? This is on a 97 challenger single. Thanks!

i just put on in on my challenger a couple months ago. didnt need any adjusting. worked the first time. hardest part was going through the hull but its not bad after you figure it out
