I dont usually promote a product unless it's a real winner... so here is a shameless plug for an AWESOME product.

Like many of you, I had several gas cans laying around with the TERRIBLE 'safety' nozzles on them and after too much spilled gas and 4 letter words, I found these guys: http://ezpourspout.com/ez-pour-products/all-products/hi-flow-spout/

At $12 per kit, they are worth every penny. The Hi-Flow setup will empty a 5 gallon can in less than a minute and the extended spout makes funnels a thing of the past. I also have a few of the 'regular' spouts for around the house duties and they work flawless as well.

Well I HATE my 5 gal Briggs and Strat cans, so I bought one. The provided adapter did not work, but I just used the original collar adapter and the thing tightens up perfectly. I have to add the provided vent to it and I am sure I will be happy. The long nozzle will make things much easier. Got mine off Amazon. Thanks for the tip.

Just found them at my local Tractor Supply. I modified a couple of my gas cans with a wheel valve stem, but I have one that I haven't done anything with. Think I will get a couple of these and try. One for a gas and the other for my diesel can.

The VP jugs are great, but not that easy to find around here. And I had some of the others so this nozzle looks to be a great option.

I actually looked into those, but they didn't solve my problem. My problem was needing to find a way to make what I had work, since I have a fair amount of money wrapped up gas cans already.

No real update to the ski other than a few uneventful afternoons at the lake with it. It will have a new parking place at the lake very soon though. I scored this from an off road forum I'm on for $250! All it really needed was a good cleaning and new bunks. This will beat the heck out of trailering the GTX every time.

Just to keep this thread up to date, the ole GTX is still running like a top without any issues.

The biggest update is to the storage and transport of this ski. The above lift was installed back in July and I picked up another one just like it a few weeks ago that needs to be put in. I also began working on a new tandem trailer that will haul both my GTXs (787 swapped '01 under construction). The white trailer you've seen the ski on works well, but between needing to rework a few things on it and wanting something a little stiffer I decided to begin work on the new trailer.

Back in May I traded a single galvanized trailer for this:

I broke out the plasma and cut out the cross members to replace them with straight pieces:

Using the original bunks and brackets for a mock up, I used CAD (that's cardboard aided design) and made up some brackets:

Put them in my new Swag Off-road press brake:

And this was the result:

I had to pick up more steel last week to build the winches and toolbox/ gas can mount. More updates to come!

I kind of did the same, except I bought a rusted out twin for 200. I then hacked all the bunk brackets and attachment points off the wasted trailer and welded to my single trailer. I also added 2 additional cross members to the back and at the spot where the front bunks bolt on. The axle is a 2500 lb unit. Holds both my gsx skis and fits in the garage. I am planning on making a longer tongue that will slide away when not in use. Plan is to get the skis deeper in the water without getting the truck wet.

To keep this thread up to date, the trailer came back in the garage to get some added cross members since the bunks were sagging:

The GTX came out of hiding and got the RAVEs cleaned, plugs changed and is ready for another summer.

Good catch. I fixed that after that pic was taken by shortening the 'leg'.

If you can't get your roller high enough to safely get the strap under it, (as mine is set up I can't), then you can add a tie-down from the bow-eye going back to the trailer frame. Here is mine.

The GTX had its first run of the season and did great. It's main job was tow duty since my X4s all had issues this week. I also got the other trailer done enough to pull to the lake:
