Looks like I have to replace the fuel lines since its the grey lines everybody is talking about. I had problem during the last ride (felt like fuel was being cutoff during WOT). It ran fine at slow speed and finally shutdown. I was able to get it running again but it was time to go.

This line below has some fuel around it. I could feel with my hand. The line goes to to the left side (near bottom) of the jet ski. Something is loose that cause it? I can see some water and fuel on the bottom floor (light though).

Also, when replacing this fuel line, do I have to worry about the connector piece or should I just measure one long piece from one end to another for this line (don't use the connector)?

Thanks a lot.

Yup... change all the hoses, clean the carbs, and clean the fuel select valve, and your problem should go away.

when i changed out mine 90 percent of the buildup seemed to be around the fuel selector (green stuff), and the boot inside was ripped...i just bought new one

I had the exact problem on Friday with my 95 XP ! Not that I didn't believe these guys about the gray fuel lines but I felt I would worry about it when I had a problem, well the problem came.
I replaced all the fuel lines yesterday except for the vent lines, cleaned the selector valve but mine wasn't gummed up or dirty. Changed the large pre-filter and the two in the carburators. I could not believe how bad these filters were. You have got to change the small ones in the carbs! The filters had black crud all over, can't believe any fuel was getting through. I had the green goo that everyone talks about all over the place. For some reason I didn't need near the amount of hose that was stated, I bought 25 feet and probably used half. I reused a number of hose clamps and bought a dozen new ones.
I took the XP out and "OH my God" unbelievable difference, fixed everything, made my eyes water so bad I couldn't see where I was going..lol.
Now I believe I have enough hose left to cahnge everything in my 94 SPI.
I couldn't agree with these people here in this forum more! They are not talking for the sake of talking, this needs to be done!

dharhigh1,

Where did you buy the pre-filter and filters for the carb? Did you buy the rebuilt kit?

Also, can somebody confirm that I don't need to reuse the connector like the on the last pic since I will be cutting a long new line?

Just curious, where is the vent line located?

Thanks,
Tony

I bought the filters at a place locally here www.rtsales.org , Im sure you can order it from them. I'm going there now to pick up one for my SPI and I'm going to change that and the lines out now that I seen what was up with the XP. What a huge difference in the way my machine runs now, idles quite a bit faster too. Oh, I ran one line and did not use that conector/union piece, don't see a reason for it at all.

Good luck
