Replacement bilge pump

Question on bilge pumps. I need to replace the bilge pump on my (2004) Sportster, and am having issues finding the right one. Original is that standard Rule Mate 500gph unit, and besides hitting up the dealer and overpaying, I hit the internet and within a click or two found them. Got one off of Amazon that is I think the RM500A that in the picture is just like mine, but in reality is a different (new?) design with a much larger footprint and won't fit down in the original location.

So my question is - Does anyone know if the original bilge pump is available anywhere? Or do I have to rig this big monster in there somehow (I don't like that idea)?

Here's the original that is in my boat, which is what I thought I was getting:

And here's what I think the newer model is, which is what I got. Same model number. Much bigger footprint that doesn't fit:

I'm game to another make/model that will fit, so if you have suggestions, please fire away.

Thanks!
Kevin

Thanks. That's what I was guessing - design change, with the old style no longer available. Interestingly, I see the old one was made in the US, while the new one is from Mexico. Great.

I also picked up the Atwood unit at Wally World today, just to see if it would fit. It does not. It is about the same size at the new style Rule unit. Looks like I will be getting creative.

I just came back from the garage and I think I can move the whole thing rearward and be OK. Always something to do with these boats! :)

If anyone else has suggestions, I'm all ears!

Thanks,
Kevin

Thanks guys for the replies.

I did just stick it in the back/transom area. Even turned the switch on and it worked. :) But then toggled over to the blower and ***pop*** goes the fuse. So great, the blower motor jacked up on me now, too, LOL. Are the blower motors standard parts? I didn't even have time to look.

you'd be surprise, on how well wd-40 will "unlock" the blower motor....if you gotta stock 540 rc motor lay'n around, that'll work, too.
