Removing SC on 06 GTX

hi all, quick question, I am about to remove the SC on a 2006 GTX Limited and I was watching a youtube video to make sure I understand the procedure and something confused me a little bit. I never removed an SC on anything before, although I have worked on motorcycles this is a tad different.

In the video below, at the 3:54 mark, it looks like hes removing the supercharger but it looks like he's spinning the bolt clockwise relative to the direction its threaded, which I thought was to tighten it? Unless I'm having a huge brain fart here, I just want to make sure I don't easily strip something out.

There are 3 bolts all E8 torx.

2 of them are removed from the inlet side but the other one actually is on the block and goes into to SC.

You will need an E8 box wrench to do it. It takes a while to get it put because of the limited movement area.

If that bolt was not there, you could probably take the SC off in 5 mins. It will be 15 or 20 minutes just because of that one bolt.

Yeah, I see where they are, I'm just wondering why in the video it looks like hes tightening the top bolt thats going into the SC when its about removing it. 3:54 unless I'm having a stroke.

I'm assuming the top bolt is threaded right handed (the normal way?) And maybe they used a reverse video when they were putting it back on during editing but jeeze it'll make me paranoid. No mention in the manual of reverse thread and jts not on a spinning material.

Can anyone confirm top bolt of SC is normal thread ?

Thanks for clarifying, I couldn't think of an mechanical reason to have it thread backwards.

Engine has a thrown rod. Top bolt on SC is somewhat rounded, sorta fits like a 7MM wrench, not a 8mm, this was rusted, previously serviced by unknown owners, and looked bad to begin with.

Not sure if you or anyone else knows, but will the SC need removed before taking the engine it out of the 06 GTX?

The bolts are E-Torx and are 8 MM. I didn't have any E-Torx wrenches or sockets when I bought my Seadoo so I had to pick some up off of Amazon.

All Seadoo's since they were supercharged are Torx M6 X 25. Someone must have replaced yours with a Hex at some point in time. Probably because they rounded it out. Doesn't matter as long at it works.

Not completely true. In 06 and 07 SeaDoo used a hex head bolt with an internal torx, not e-torx.
As long as it is a 6mm bolt it really doesn't matter other than the OEM's are stainless
Not completely true either. The 06 and 07 bolts were not stainless at all, just plated steel and they rust fairly quickly depending on the environment. SeaDoo switched back to the stainless e-torx around 08.
