I have a 2000 RFI Sea Doo GTX. It has approx 160 hours on it. This last week I took it out and for about 5 minutes it ran fine. Then a light in the left hand corner of the dash gauge started to flash. And at the same time a message came on the screen that said 12 V low. This continued until I got back to the dock. I let it sit for about 10 minutes and tried it again. After riding it for a while, the same thing happened. After about 10 trys, the light and message dissapeared. For 3 days after that, the messages never appeared again. Will I have a problem the next time I take it out? The battery is brand new and fully charged. There was never an issue with starting the ski. Any ideas will be appreciated. Thanx Rovnr@aol.com

Just because a battery is new... doesn't mean it's any good.

I have a bike shop, and I see it about 3 or 4 times a year, where people bring a bike in with a new battery, and they wont start. ( battery is bad out of the box)

Get a volt meter, and connect it to your battery. you should see 12.5 to 12.7 volts if it's new. Then, start the ski, and bring it up to 5000 rpm. you should now see 13.5 to 14.5 volts. If you don't, your regulator is probably going bad.
