I'm trying to repair my 1997 GTX myself. I have no clue what I'm doing but have been on this site all morning since I had to cancel my trip to Lake today. Ski was winterized in October of 2007. I have not been able to ride and won't bore you with the details. I have checked fuses, checked filter above fuel tank, placed new plugs and it still won't start. It just cranks. Help! Please speak in ski baby talk.

It could be a lot of things, the first thing I would do is dispose of the gas, clean the tank and add fresh gas.

Does your ski have the grey fuel lines?

Ok, I'll get fresh fuel. There are two grey lines and one larger diameter clear (now greenish) line. Not sure which are which.

Fuel Delivery Problem

Before you change the gas lets try something.

Remove the spark plugs, and dribble a teaspoon full or so of premix, fresh gas, 40:1, down each spark plug hole, replace the spark plugs, (use new ones if the ones you removed look wet), try to start the ski, it should run for a few seconds. You can use premix for this test if you have some for a chain saw, weed eater, etc.

This will tell us if we have a fuel delivery problem.
