i was out on the lake the other day with my 96 spx , it was running great , ran it for about 4 hrs and had no problem, stop in a cove and when i started it back up to leave it would go then stop. i would floor it and it would run for sec then stop and kinda putter, any way i towed it back in and fliped it over just to check the impeller. all good there so i look inside the engine and the hose that goes to what i assume is the "pisser" , and it was loose, long story short i put it back in place and it rode fine after that. was that the problem or did it over heat , ran it for about 4 hrs non stop, or do i have a bigger problem:( thanks in advance (sorry about writing a novel)

Sorry, but you'll have to be more specific on the hose that was disconnected for us to diagnose your problem.
well im not quite sure myself it ran from the pisser i guess thats what the little hole on the side is to like a clamp not really a hole, it almost looked like it was there to suck out any water that got in the engine compartment. this is my first ski so im completly new to the whole thing , i had it out today and it ran fine so idk.....

The hose was loose on his engine because he cooked it and the heat did it. He tells us that it would run poor(lean condition), then he would hold it wide open and it would stop(seizing). This is just IMO of coarse but it seems like a verbatim example of a newb blowing up his ski. I have read it over and over again and even done it a few times myself until I learned to back off at the first sign of the ski not responding correctly.
Noob 2, it's time for you to do a compression check.

I checked compression and it's 135 so idk there but I only ran it for maybe 5 min when the problem stared then I had it towed it's ran fine ever since so I think it may have just been the hose or over heated
