R&D racing trim tabs for XP

I know I should be asking them this, but the R&D site doesnt have a contact for email or phone or anything - and yall know every everything my question is.... is the R&D x-tender for the 96 XP made to do the same thing as the trim tabs? It doesnt say what its for - and if so is one better than the other?

It is for extending the hull. This is supposed to cut down on porpoising and keep the hull more level over light chop. Yes this is the same thing that you look to achieve when installing the trim tabs.

The most common R&D kit that I see comes with all three pieces. It was soon realized that the tabs alone make a positive difference while the middle piece makes it ride funny with no apparent benefit. Most folks leave the middle part off.
