Quick question

I have a 97 spx lately I have been having problems with it not wanting to run after an hour or two of riding.

I have gone threw all the electrical the fuel everything is perfect

Today I noticed the water regulator cap was sitting half off so I pulled the cap off and found the spring broken in half. So I replaced it.

Would this cause it to not want to run after an hour or so of riding?

Yes it will cause problems but u would think it would cause problems sooner. I would check your charging system. Sounds like your battery is not staying charged up. Hook it to the hose and rev to 4000 rpms . Check battery voltage with a multimeter. You should at 13.5 to 14 volts.

I’ve checked the battery it’s holding at 13.5 when I rev to 4 grand
