I just got done picking up a real nice 95 Sea Doo SPX hull. Is there anybody out there that can tell me what size motor this originally came with so I can begin the process of searching down a motor? I also picked up a running 92 XP with the 587 motor in it which actually runs. I picked up both of these keys with a nice double shoreline her trailer for 400 bucks. I think I did good. I thought about taking the 587 out of the 92XP and putting in the 95SPX but I don’t know if it is there anybody out there that can tell me what size motor this originally came with so I can begin the process of searching down a motor? I think the 95 SPX had the 657X engine in it from the factory. Not sure if the engine mounts are the same.

Yes the 580, 650, 650x and 720 will all fit but electronics and pipes are different.

Gary, I got some 657x parts left from a 1994 XP I had. Mostly just an engine that needs a rebuild and some cables and gauges. If you do a conversion and need some random parts, I might have them and will sell cheap. Where are you in Michigan? I'm not sure how much I have for the older 650 ski's. Most of the stuff in my garage is for 787's.

Is it just the to end that needs rebuild?

What do you want for a pair of jugs and pistons?

It should be the 657X. Yes, they are different engines. The electronics are different, and the cylinders themselves are different. The 657X has 5hp more than the 657.

Like I said, it should have the 657X. It should say so right on the info plate attached to the top of the mag cover.

Honestly your best bet is to call Nick or Jess at Westside Powersports and tell them what you have and they can send you a drop in ready to run quality used engine so you can enjoy the summer.

It actually does have the electronics in it...I’m sure I have exhaust parts around here to complete it

I understand that, but when I picked this JetSki up it didn’t have a motor in it

Sorry, I guess I need some sleep! I missed that it didn’t have a motor at all. It should definitely be the 657X motor, and Nick or Jess will be your best bet...
