Ok, I finally got it ALMOST off, now it feels like something is holding it on, do I need to disconnect anything on the inside?will the long rod come out with it? if so it has the clamp on it going into the engine.

I noticed the 2 tubes at the top may be holding it in? Do I just keep pulling? Its on the edge of the bolts and i just need to get it the rest of the way off...almost done!

anything else that I might have forgot to disconnect?

thanks again~!!

Sorry, I got busy, and apparently no one else answered the question.
The fittings at the top of the housing go through the hull to engine and the bailers. You can see the plastic hoses with clamps looking inside the hull. So you have to remove those clamps and hoses so the fittings can pass through the hull and come out with the pump. Look at the diagram (parts #15, #27): http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche... Sea Doo PWC SPX PROPULSION SYSTEM - EXTERNAL

The long rod is the drive shaft, and the rear splined end fits into the impeller, so that greased spine connection should separate leaving the shaft still in the craft. If the grease is stiff or the spines are corroded, you should have someone hold it while you pull the pump off, or it will try to come out with the pump. Look at this diagram link (part #11): http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche... Sea Doo PWC SPX PROPULSION SYSTEM - EXTERNAL

Thanks, finally got it off. I am going to have to take the drive shaft out too right to replace the seal carrier and that rubber boot?

Got the drive shaft out, now just need to order the seal carrier and maybe I should replace the wear ring? and maybe new impeller?

Inspect the wear ring for bad gouges or bad grooves. If just normal wear then there should be less than 1mm clearance between the center of each impeller blade and the wear ring. If the impeller only has the small normal nicks from use, you shouldn't have to replace it. Wear rings are fairly cheap, but impellers aren't. I wouldn't put a ton of money into a '94, especially if not really needed.

You should remove the pump cone and check the oil for water (stink is normal). If there is water or muddy looking stuff in the oil, then you will need to rebuild the pump since a seal is probably bad. The impeller does turn by hand inside the housing, I assume.

If you haven't yet, download a manual for your '94 SPX so you can read about all of this.

thanks for the info...you all have been very helpful!

Cone looks ok, I was told putting an after market impeller would give it better take off, more responsive....and that since I have it off now is the time to do it?

The oil in the cone looked ok.

Yes the impeller turns

Yea I have the manual

thank again.
