My wife has finally convinced me to buy a PWC. I have done a lot of research to find what I think is a good deal. There is a new 2008 RXT-x 255 that I can get for about $10k. The price seems pretty fair. If you don't agree let me know. I am a bit worried about getting a turbo. Are they loud? Do they break down more frequently? Are they more expensive to up keep? Any comments regarding pros and cons would be appreciated before I take the plunge. Thanks in advance.

Hey there and welcome! I am by no means an expert but this site might help you with some pricing...

Since it's new and I'm sure with a trailer sounds like a little high for an 08 unless that's the total out the door. Are you getting any additional accessories with it...such as vests etc? I have an 05 RXT 215 with the supercharger (turbo) and very happy with the performance. The noise shouldn't be a problem but at 70+ you might want to wear a pair of ear plugs anyways. the RXT holds 3 and is great for tubing / skiing. In FL they require a driver and spotter when pulling someone.

Maintenance on the SC is at 100 hours and the cost to maintain might be a little higher than a non SC model. It would also cost less for gas since you wouldn't need premium for optimal performance on a SC.

Good luck!

Welcome to the seadoo forum Bob. Lots of good information here. The wave of the future is all the seadoos will be Super Charged, as the Natural Aspirated models are replaced with new updated models.

supercharger rebuild

I'm sure you'll love the performance of the 255. supercharger rebuild (by a dealer) will run you between $650 and $850 depending on the dealer. I have an RXT-X 260 and it is very quiet.

I just bought a 2011 GTI 155 and had to convince my wife!LOL!
