OK guys. I have all the parts I need to finish the wear ring replacement on one of my pumps. Actually I have the ware ring already installed.
Question: I need to clean the bearings and pump shaft before i can reinstall the pump cone but I don’t know what product I can use. Is gas or break cleaner ok?

P.S Spent almost 40 dollars on the Loctite 518 and 591 that’s needed to seal the pump cone. That stuff is expensive. :ack:

that same lock-tite was on the clearance table at Pep-Boys for 4 buks..
Yeah, gas or cleaner would work, but re-soak the bearings prior to install.
I used a swab of silicone around the cone/pump grate instead of lock-tite...aint leak'n/tak'n on water...my 2 cents.
