i just read in here in a thread that if i premix my ski and dont use the oil injection the rotary valve wont get any lube,,is that right? there is a blockoff plate and the lines are hooked together under the carbs,,please let meknow i dont wanna burn it up

i assume by your details you have an XPL-> correct me if im wrong but that should mean you have a 951 so there is no rotary valve. it runs reeds.
The rotary valve is in the 787, 720 etc

Yes, you can loop the little 3/32 lines under the carbs to block them off. What you need clarification on is the fact that 2-cycle engine oil is also needed(in addition to being mixed with the fuel at 40/1)circulating to lubricate where your rotary gear meets the crankshaft. Many people will loop this large oil line together(filled with oil) if they remove the oil tank. The problem is that very little capacity is offered then and if your engine consumes some then it would quickly run out. With perfect crank seals it would take a coon's age to empty a looped line, still I like the security of leaving the tank in and just blocking off the oil feed line that has the filter on it.

Hey Matt, you did everything correct. Doc was referring to "donkey" who also posted his question in the boat section.

on the subject of the loop, you can buy a simple flush t fitting at advanced auto they are 99cents I think, (but hard to find until you find an employee that has worked there more than 6 months) but with these you can easily top off the oil when you see its using some up, mine uses VERY little. An again, the auto parts guy will look at you like you have two heads since they are usually not on a shelf on the floor, but in a box behind the counter, when I buy them I try to buy a handful to avoid the hassle of finding it again.

Or they also sell little reservoir caps that hold an extra 2oz so you have a little more to spare in addition to whats in the hose and they are easier to fill (larger hole)

this is the simple flush t.

this is an example of a small reserve, not exactly what I used before but you get the idea...
