95 SPX with 657 motor, comes in off the lake with no start condition. Just a clunk when engaging starter. Also the flame arrestor, breather assembly had come completely off the carbs, all 6 screws had come loose. And probably my fault as I had just rebuilt the carbs and must not have tightened them properly. I only found 4 of the 6 screws. I removed the plugs and cannot turn over the engine by hand using the PTO flywheel on the back of the engine. I usually can. Those two missing screws are my issue, Are they lost somewhere under the engine or can they go through the carb and into the crankcase? Is it worth it to remove the carbs ? Will I be able to see if the screws are in there? I really don't want to remove /dismantle the engine on a maybe...???? Any and all suggestions are appreciated as to how to proceed....
